James North, a retired international Grand Prix Rider with over 40 years of professional experience in equestrian sports, specializes in training horses and riders from Ponies to Grand Prix. A three-time Hunter Horse of the Year award winner and AHSA Rookie of the Year, James represented the United States internationally under the mentorship of world-renowned trainer and Chef D'Equippe George Morris. He continues the American Forward Riding techniques and traditions, influencing the next generation of riders.
As a coach, James has guided numerous winners, including the American Pony Finals, the Equitation Medal, and the Maclay Finals, as well as top performers in the Young Riders Competition and International Grand Prix. His riders have consistently excelled at the highest levels, a testament to his ability to develop talent across multiple disciplines and age groups. With a world-ranked career and decades of experience, James remains a respected figure in the equestrian community, mentoring the next generation of champions.
